BE PREPARED IN STYLE: SAFETY MEETS HIGH DESIGN IN PREPPI SURVIVAL KITS
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Why not roll with some modicum of style? Safety first, design second. With the winter comes rain, blizzards and an all-around wintry mix that can pose power outages with downed wires and other hazards. Bearing this and other natural disasters in mind, Lauren Tafuri and Ryan Kuhlman, LA residents who had endured earthquakes and floods, decided to create the stylish Preppi Survival Kit. Filled with basic survival and First Aid essentials to provide comfort for 72 hours, including water and a hand-crank radio, it also includes luxe little extras, like Kusmi Tea and dark chocolate. Housed in a good looking canvas bag, there is a large and lite version, easy to grab in a hurry. The smaller version, the Prepster Lite, was launched right after the Napa Valley earthquake hit, providing an easy to grab and go option. Being ready for the worst never looked so good.
The luxe Earthquake preparedness kit is available outfitted for one or two people, and can be ordered with or without a monogram, starting at $345. The best part is probably the solar powered USB jack on the hand crank radio, among the 162 + items included.
The Prepster Lite, at $145, available with or without monogram, is a pared-down version, filled with essentials and treats to last you 72 hours, the standard recommended by The Red Cross.
