MEET GUILDERY: A NEW SITE FOR ON-DEMAND PRINTED FABRICS, PILLOWS
Are interior design fabrics ready for a disruptor in the space? We work in an industry where doing things the old fashioned way can be the norm. With technology accelerating the way business is done, from the back office systems to the creative process, streamlining methods seem to be the new normal in almost every other industry. Fashion and eyewear brands like Warby Parker, Everlane and Trunkclub, among many others, have disrupted how products reach users, with direct to consumer business models. Is interior design ready for this approach? This brings us to Guildery, a new online company utilizing digital printing to create textiles and finished goods, such as pillows and window panels. With a quick lead time, a wide ranging assortment of color-coordinated fabric schemes, and customization capabilities, Guildery is taking the direct-to-consumer path with printed fabrics by making it accessible and fast. Founded by Shane Reilly, (who sold her interior design website to Gilt Groupe) and Kelly Berger, a co-founder of Tiny Prints (who sold his digital card company to Shuttefly) , they "set out to solve the problem of color coordination. We showcase collections of fabrics in color stories of 3 - 5 colors, so the buyer is guaranteed to get a color-coordinated look when shopping for items within our design kits. We take the guess work out of color coordination." Printed in the US, you can choose from good/better/best fabric grounds, with cotton duck, a cotton linen blend and 100% Belgian Linen options. Streamlining the process, samples get sent to your door, and color tweaks in addition to totally customized print designs are available. They launched with colorful collections created by artisanal textile designers, and are expanding their assortment every day, by partnering with existing and emerging talent. Have you always had a burning desire to create your own fabrics as an interior designer? This is your chance, with their To The Trade Design Your Own Fabric program. In a simplified process, you submit your artwork, select your color palette, and work with their in-house team to execute the process. Interested designers should contact artists@guildery.com and interior designers can also sign up for their To The Trade discount. Tell them Stylebeat sent you!
