STYLISH SHOPPING FIRST LOOK: AMANDA LINDROTH BRINGS ISLAND STYLE TO HER NEW PALM BEACH HOME BOUTIQUE

Photos courtesy of Amanda Lindroth

Bringing her sunny island resort style to Palm Beach, Bahamas-based interior designer Amanda Lindroth has just opened Lindroth Design.  Yes, Palm Beach is an island, but not in the remote getaway sense, the way the Bahamas is. Lindroth's world exudes a sense of fun, optimism and delight. She has established herself as a go-to designer, designing island homes with a breezy, elevated Bahamian style. Having been a guest for brunch at her divine island home in Nassau, her graciousness and style comes across in everything she does. Her shop is no different. A burst of old-school (toned down) preppy chic, the boutique, located at 312B South County Road, offers everything from entertaining essentials like raffia-wrapped carafes and glasses to home decor. Her elevated casual sensibility is always comfortable, first and foremost. The decorative assortment has  painted bamboo, 1950's and 60's  classic rattan, and raffia with a dose of breezy printed blue and white  patterns co-exist in a tropical palette.  Welcome to Palm Beach Amanda, cocktail hour awaits!

The gracious octagonal entry to Amanda Lindroth's Lyford Cay island home with crisp blue and white. Capturing a fresh resort sensibility, her interiors, influenced by classic Palm Beach style and relaxed island life, are filled with bamboo, rattan, raffia carpets, and boldly patterned printed textiles, often from Quadrille.

The quirky charm and eagle-eye finds comes across instantly, with this fun pink Peacock Fan Chair holding a bevy of bountiful orchids. A taxidermy bird rests atop the curved fan back.

Packed with a mix of vintage finds and great gifts, the shop is a welcome addition along South County, near other design shops. If the line at nearby Surfside Restaurant is out the door, the overflow will have a colorful shopping experience right next door.

Lindroth peppers her interiors with English antiques, so expect to see a few of those pieces among the assortment of shell objects and other sandy-feet island standards like coral, rope-wrapped lamps and more. The shop will also serve as a destination for Oomph furniture.  Their adorable tufted orange slipper chair is already there.

I noticed the way Lindroth hangs her paintings from a brass rod when I visited her home. I think it is a really smart way to show art, hanging two pieces in a row you can change it out and create a symmetrical grid-effect.

Seashell decor delights in this resort destination, where interiors range from being super relaxed to over-the-top formal
