STYLING DONE RIGHT AT HIGH POINT MARKET, FALL 2014

Every High Point Market, beautifully executed environments are built from scratch. Creating a fresh new look and brand vision, furniture companies know this is their moment to capture a new design customer in their showroom, keep an existing one enthralled, or simply to inspire with innovative ideas. Rolling out new designs twice a year, brands unveil their new vision, creating buzz and generating sales in their captivating showroom spaces. The talk of this market? Laura Kirar for Baker, Celerie Kemble for Lane Venture and Aerin's additions at EJ Victor. Here are some of my favorite market moments captured on the fly-- I hope you will be as inspired as I was as you look at the talent and design from this fall market.

The backdrops were stark linear black and white abstractions, a good foil for the pared-down furniture

A large L-shaped sectional in a white nubby fabric commands attention in one of  Aerin's EJ Victor rooms. The fireplace provides the focal point, flanked by burl wood etageres

One of my favorite moments, this high-sided sofa in a grey-green velvet, richly painted deep grey walls and touches of gold

Phoebe Howard always brings styling to another level in her Mr. and Mrs. Howard for Sherrill showroom. o detail is overlooked, as she mixes antiques in with her designs.

Blue and white, the eternal crowd-pleaser, makes this comfortable navy button-tufted sofa and Charlotte Moss-designed coffee table at Century easy to love

At the newly refreshed Ambella Home, Jennifer McConnell covered the walls in a textural faux bois panelling to create a soothing Equine- inspired seating area. Cream upholstery done in highly textured fabrics is where it's at this market.

Three of my favorite brass etageres at Bernhardt anchor a seating area with large neutral sofas

Pairing white upholstery with light woven rope and natural woven materials, Bernhardt captures resort casual living.

Alexa Hampton chose to work with touches of red in her spaces at Hickory Chair. You can't deny the impact of red-- it is such a powerful color that she knows how to use to great effect.

The new Hickory Chair showroom, now part of Heritage Home Group, is filled with natural light, making photos a challenge, but shopping much more enjoyable.

Also part of the newly-formed Heritage Home Group, Henredon, where Celerie Kemble showed her designs in a fresh pink and minty green palette.

The ultimate hunting lodge escape, Celerie created a masculine den with a cream sofa and tortoise touches

Across the hall, Celerie's outdoor furniture debuted with Lane Venture. No stranger to the Lane Venture family, she is back, years after Kemble Interiors created a collection back in the early 2000's. Filled with scallop details, wide awning stripe fabrics and durable outdoor wicker, the collection is pure Palm Beach throwback.

Showrooms are starting to use darker walls to create dramatic, enveloping areas. At Century, a handsome English tufted leather sofa with a high back and low sides is paired with a light rug and accent tables with touches of gold

Lexington, one of my generous sponsors, makes great twin beds that work well in tropical homes.  They style their bedrooms making you feel you will wake up to the sound of lapping waves.

Over the past two markets, I have spotted a few standout banquette designs, and Pearson showed this two-piece tufted version in linen, perfect for New York City apartments
