Relaunching this High Point Market, under the creative direction of Rick Janecek (who was most recently with Global Views), and Jennifer McConnell (formerly of Baker and Pearson) for upholstery, Ambellla Home debuted a fresh vision, filled with new upholstery, case goods and seating. Taking a lifestyle approach, the vast new showroom, styled to accompany vignettes, featured shades of blue and cream, alongside an appealing, livable palette. Sourcing stunning fabrics and showcasing unique upholstery and trim combinations is one of McConnell's passions and her forte. As one of my High Point Market sponsors, I was happy to get  first look at what my friend Jennifer McConnell had been busy developing. The look is traditional, and there are custom details-- a mid-century modern tufting detail, a comfortable sit, a gently sloping arm,  providing a pulled together assortment that will feel at home in a modern or classic home. A distinguishing factor? Right-sized pieces that have proper proportion and scale. The company, based out of Dallas, Texas, is best known for creating a successful category out of the bathroom vanity, designing pieces that resemble furniture found in the living room. Growing their assortment, they debuted their upholstery offering, and McConnell has designed a varied mix,  with a range encompassing a classic Bridgewater-inspired sitting chair to an understated Swedish Settee. Take a look at the newly rolled out upholstery along with case pieces, and see why comfort is still king.

English-style sofas, with their sink-down cushions and slightly askew stuffed pillows in faded florals elevate the art of relaxing to a zen state. When you think about the amount of time you will spend on your sofa, why not make it as comfortable and nap-worthy as possible?

Framed in a cerused wood and covered in a nubby oatmeal textural woven with subtle stripe, a single-cushioned Settee would work in areas short on space

I love a good settee! A slight kidney shape and high, enveloping arm provide a cozy spot for a tete-a-tete

Rather than tuft the entire seating area of th is curved chair, the back is tufted and the seat cushion is loose for maximum comfort

Elegant and understated, never underestimate the impact of well-placed tape trims! Using a crisp greek key tape at the base of the tailored skirt and coordinating lumbar pillow, this cozy chair will get a lot of use.

Bringing a custom detail to a traditional reading chair, a contrasting fabric is shown running down the center of the neutral upholstery, adding a blue solid and tape trim border for interest

Biscuit tufting has been on the rise the past few markets. It adds a Mid Century Modern touch and when combined with a Klismos curve, the Social Butterfly Chair is a side chair that brings a sleek look to a seating arrangement.

Inspired by a 19th Century English side chair, the Dolphin Chair stays true to the antique piece, carved on both the front and back
