JUICY FRUIT: A WATERMELON, FAUX REAL

Summer is officially underway, which means I can now show festive summer things with wild abandon. That leads me to this smile-inducing earthenware watermelon bowl. Made by artist Melanie Mckenney in Upstate New York, out of a cast created from the real thing, the generously sized serving piece is a wonderful replica of the real thing, ready-made for picnics and occasions where refreshing fruit salads are called for.  Complete with black seeds and green rind, the glazed bowl, available at Uncommon Goods is a summer entertaining must-have.
