A WALK DOWN BIRCH LANE: A NEW BRAND DEBUTS
I was recently invited to the launch of a new home decor brand. It is rare nowadays that a company, complete with catalog and website, launches out of the gate with fully-fleshed out categories and stylistic range. Maybe that is because this new site, called Birch Lane, is from large online home retailer Wayfair, and was creatively driven by the amazing Christiane Lemieux, founder of DwellStudio. Her design eye and expertise as their Executive Creative Director created the look and feel of the wide product range, and the assortment is filled with comfortable classics at great price points. Shop by living, dining, home office and bedroom, or, by category. Ahead, a look at some of the traditional classic pieces that caught my eye.
The twisted glass base of the Sorrell Glass Lamp has a beautiful vintage feel
An embroidered chevron pattern on the Cassie Pillow allows it to mix well with a coordinating small or large print
The Beverly Pillow has a graphic dot pattern inspired by Japanese textiles
I am so impressed with their bedding, especially this Celina pattern, with charming ribbon detailing and fresh blue banding stripe
Framed Angler fish prints are a nice tailored moment that can add pizzaz to a guest room or bring personality to an office
Shells always add a nice nautical touch, especially when rendered in blue and white
Woven storage hampers look great while hiding past season clothing or blankets
Their upholstery offerings really wow, with clean lines and comfortable deep seats. The Larson Sofa with nailhead trim.
The Kerry Loveseat can do wonders for smaller spaces
You know I love a slipper chair, so the Kendall Chair is a standout
What is more classic than a bobbin chair? The Henderson Chair in a light finish.
The Bentley Bookcase mixes materials for a rustic look
You can't go wrong with x detailing and light finish on the Merrick Bookcase
Go in for a little deco glamour with the Turner Console and it's antiqued brass finish
Subtle detailing on the Grafton Side Chair make it a good dining chair
Moroccan stylistic detailing has made its way into the mainstream. The Dana Rug, in an easy to use color range, has pattern flair without overwhelming a space
The Ava Rug with a petite herringbone pattern comes in soft colors, is low key and adds just a bit of pattern
Channelling Americana with patterend stripes, Lucy, in an 100% New Zealand blend wool
