BEAUTIFULLY BOHEMIAN: SCHUYLER SAMPERTON'S BOLD NEW PRINTED TEXTILES
Schuyler Samperton designed a window for LCDQ Legends with her new prints at Hollywood at Home, where you can find her textile designs and get samples
When my friend, LA designer Schuyler Samperton told me she was launching a fabric collection I knew it would be imbued with her distinct color and pattern sensibility, I just didn't know how that might present itself, what form it would take. The results, which I adore, are a powerful and ebullient mix, a riot of color and pattern that capture Samperton's eccentric bohemian point of view to a T. The assortment of eight prints gets to the essence of her style -- filled with flowers, birds and ethnic influences. Looking to historical Indian and Ottoman textiles and her travels for inspiration, her original designs are well scaled and make an impact with their wonderful color combinations, including turquoise and purple and bright pink and avocado green. Find her textiles at Hollywood at Home in LA, Peter Dunham's fantastic home shop on La Cienega. As with most of the Michael S. Smith alums I know, she is creating something great in the world of design today.
